London Ontario used to be considered a sleeper community in comparison to the it’s larger metropolitan neighbors. Namely Kitchener Waterloo and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Property values in London Ontario in the past have been substantially lower then most of the province.
With the increase in real estate development over the last few years in London, property values have sky rocketed and demand has exceeded supply.
New construction homes have also increased in popularity sprawling out in almost every corner of the city.
Another real estate development trend that is beginning to take flight are strip malls shopping plazas. In the past the best way to shop for the things you needed would be to visit the mall or certain corners of the city such as Masonville or White Oaks where you could easily find malls, grocery and hardware stores. Today in pretty much any large neighborhood throughout London Ontario you will find plazas stretching as long as 5 city blocks filled with any store imaginable. As well they are filled with other commercial businesses and restaurants. Most of the main arteries stretching in every direction offer this type of shopping, dining and entertainment experiences.
Transportation is also beginning to change. London Transit Commission bus routes stretch farther then they ever have with increase bus routes and availability times. New ideas such as the Bus Rapid Transit and even rail have been discussed to bring further transportation ease to this ever growing city.
