Setting goals is an important component of a successful real estate career. Just setting the goal cannot be the only action though. Once the goal is set there has to be a level of accountability and regular metrics to ensure you are on track. Adjustments should be made as needed. Most importantly the goals must realistic and attainable. It is a good idea to have a coach or accountability partner to help keep you on track. Investing money into a professional coach could be the key to a very successful career.

3. Bounce Back

Rejection is a huge part of a real estate career. Not just from clients, but for clients as well. A successful real estate agent must have the ability to bounce back from rejection and learn to never take things personally.

4. Self Control

This is a big one. One that really is never talked about but the most necessary. Every successful real estate agent must practice a great amount of self control. Real estate, for the most part is a commission based career. You earn a percentage of the sale you are a party to. You earn ONLY WHEN you are a party to a purchase or sale. Even the most successful real estate agents hit slumps, or slow months. So as tempting as the fancy car or fancy suit is self control is 100% necessary. Along with a good budget and some healthy savings before you start.

There is no magic potion for a successful real estate career. However the above ingredients are the base. Each needed to kick start as well as hold together all of the other components.
