Some people aren’t fans of Fall, because it signifies the end of the summer. But to some, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! There are the obvious reasons why. The trees change and look so pretty, the mosquitos go away, the kids are back to school. But one of the best parts of fall is the decorating! Whether you swap out pieces of furniture seasonally or you just like to add a little flair to your home, we are here to tell you what’s in this fall!

Velvet

Yes, you read that right. Velvet is in. Large, comfortable furniture pieces are very trendy right now. If you’re just adding some fall flavour you can add some throw pillows into the mix, or perhaps a velvet throw.

Brass

Brass is back! And copper is out. You can incorporate brass into your space to stay, or bring it in as a seasonal accent. Textured brass is especially in, like this beautiful vase (insider secret: it’s from Target!)

Dark Paint

If you are looking to update the paint in one of your rooms this fall, dark paint colours are back! Weaving in burnt orange or red accent pieces will look great against the dark paint. In fact, painting your ceiling a darker shade then the room is in style right now too. It’s often referred to as “the fifth wall”.

Firewood

Whether or not you have a wood burning stove, it’s nice to bring in the outdoors a little with a stack of firewood. It’s a great accent to a living space or a rustic dining space.

Foliage

Using foliage from your own backyard makes a great fall centrepiece or bouquet. Placing the foliage in a vintage vase or mason jar adds to the rustic feel of it all.
